Paläontologische Museum

The Paleontological Museum in Munich is part of the Bavarian State Collection for Palaeontology and Geology. The public part of this collection is called the Paleontological Museum. It was built in the beginning of the 20th Centuryand should originally be used as a crafts school. 

The museum is known for its extensive collection of fossils from different eras of the earth's history. The exhibition also includes the world's only specimen of Archaeopteryx bavarica, the Bavarian dinosaurs. Additionally, the Paleontological Museum has the complete skeleton of a saber-toothed tiger and a giant elephant. 

As already mentioned, the Paleontological Museum is part of the Bavarian State Collection for Palaeontology and Geology in Munich. It is a research institute that has taken the task to investigate pre-and early history of animal life and geology.
