The Valentin-Karlstadt-Musaeum in Munich is dedicated to the comedian Karl Valentin and his wife Liesl Karlstadt, The museum is located in the Isar Gate, which constitutes a part of the former city wall. Besides the exhibition itself, the building houses a café as well as the studio of artist.
The Valentin-Karlstadt-Museum offers a wide range of quirky and fun exhibits, including, for example, the famous telephone, which used the comedian in his sketch as Buchbinder Wanninger.
Besides the entertaining exhibits, the museum developed a new concept since 2008: a permanent exhibition about the life of Karl Valentin. It shows the artist with all its facets and talents - not just as a comedian but also as an actor, philosopher, singer, filmmakes and craftspeople.
The notation "Musäum" is not a mistake, it is the correct name for the exhibition.
