Once upon a time, there was an inn in the east of Munich – this is how the history of Hotel Erb begins. Come with us on a short journey through time – we are proud of our past, because it is a mission to offer our guests even more comfort and service in the future!
The 1960s were drawing to a close when Jakob Erb and his daughter Rosa Maria Erb opened their newly built guesthouse in tranquil Parsdorf. Parsdorf is located to the east of Munich and belongs to the community of Vaterstetten. All destinations in the city and the surrounding area can be reached quickly, and yet Munich’s peripheral location promises lots of charm and a relaxing stay.
Then as now, the Erb guesthouse offered the highest level of comfort. A bowling alley, swimming pool and sauna were part of the house. The 20 guest rooms had their own bathroom with telephone. This luxury and also the friendly, unmistakably Bavarian-direct manner of Rosa Maria Erb quickly led to her guest house becoming a magnet for visitors.
From the very beginning, the guest house in Parsdorf was not only popular with business travelers from the region, but also attracted more and more visitors from outside the region. Easily accessible from Munich’s Riem Airport, it was not only guests who had business in the region who stayed here, but also crew members happily stayed there often.
Today, when you enjoy an aperitif at Rosis Bar before enjoying your dinner at our restaurant Almgrill, it is the continuation of one of the traditions that Rosa Maria Erb founded. With great attention to detail, Rosi – her nickname – had furnished a TV room with a black and white TV and two large tables for the guests to enjoy the evening entertainment. Andechs bottled beer and Obstler from Lake Constance were served in large quantities.
According to Rosi, a shot glass of 2 cl was “something for the hollow tooth”. Those who unknowingly sat down on the seat of the mistress of the house had to buy a round for everyone at the bar. It is not difficult to imagine how cheerful it was at the Erb guest house back then. We are proud that we have maintained this carefree atmosphere of the early years until today at our Best Western Plus Hotel Erb. Rosi was only satisfied when her guests were happy. We too are happy to follow this tradition with heart and do our best to make your professional or private stay at our hotel unforgettable.
Rosi managed her guesthouse for 20 years with her typical Bavarian cordiality. Visitors became regular guests and finally friends who keep in touch even when they weren’t staying at the house. In 1988 it was time to move on to new shores and today’s Hotel Erb with 20 rooms was built at the Posthalterring in Parsdorf. Ten years later Rosis son Christian Erb took over the house. Due to the high demand we continued to expand the Hotel Erb. We added new rooms and the comfort rooms that you can still book with us today. Thanks to the convenient location to the airport, the Munich Trade Fair and the International Congress Center Munich (ICM), we decided to integrate conference and seminar rooms into our hotel.
Just like back in the old days, it is important to us that you can hold your conferences, training courses and seminars in a relaxed atmosphere. That’s why you don’t just rent a room from us, but can have conference packages tailored to your needs, including meals, accommodation and a supporting program.
Your well-being is always our priority. For this reason we offer our guests the Almdorf Spa with five saunas, steam bath and other wellness offers. Not only our hotel guests can use the spa, but you also have the possibility to relax body, mind and soul with a day ticket. What could be better after a meeting or a trip to the city or its surrounding area?
In 2002 we decided to join the brand category Best Western. Since 2012 we even offer maximum comfort as Best Western Plus Hotel as one of the first hotels in Germany at that time. The Hotel Erb as Best Western Plus Hotel guarantees its guests special facilities and a service that sets the hotel apart from regular Best Western hotels as well as other establishments. It is important that no wish is left unfulfilled for both business travelers and vacationers. Today we have 123 rooms and suites with all the feel-good features
It is a matter of the heart for us to constantly develop the offers for our hotel guests. Today, the Best Western Plus Hotel Erb is not only a popular venue for meetings, seminars and conferences, but also during trade fairs we are booming. We regularly staff product suites for our guests, which are used for trade fair presentations. Our own in-house team is only concerned with making your business event a complete success.
The Hotel Erb is also a popular venue for frequent celebrations. We arrange company parties and Christmas celebrations for companies, organize your kick-off party and, of course, also dedicate ourselves to private celebrations. Our location is especially popular with couples who want to get married. You can celebrate your wedding with us in Bavarian style, even with a marching band and romantic ending in one of our suites!
In 2018 the Hotel Erb could celebrate its 50th birthday. No wonder that we chose exactly this year to open our restaurant Almgrill. The grill restaurant with Bavarian and international specialties is perfect if you want to enjoy a dinner that no one else in the region can offer.
Because at Almgrill, meat, fish and vegetarian specialties come from the Josper grill, which uses a special technique and the use of vegetable charcoal to create a particularly delicate aroma. In the morning, our hotel guests enjoy breakfast in the modern, alpine style restaurant specially designed by the Erb family. We also open the Almgrill on selected Sundays and holidays for a brunch that leaves nothing to be desired.
Christian and Xenia Erb are the third generation of Rosis guesthouse, which is now part of the renowned Best Western Plus chain. In Rosis’ spirit, hospitality is not just a slogan, but a living tradition. The management and the 45 employees do everything to spoil you with traditional Bavarian hospitality.
This way you can work and hold meetings in a relaxed atmosphere or relax during a short vacation. We have a lot more ideas for the future. When may we welcome you here?
